It was announced today that Marlay Softball Club and Shutout 7 have agreed to merge for the 2008 season.  The merger will see Shutout 7 take on the Marlay name and play all home games in Marlay Park.  The merger is of great benefit to both clubs, creating one three team club comprising of over 60 players.  The opportunity to train as a group increases the potential to develop players and capacity to introduce new people to the sport.  Furthermore, the larger playing base should see a minimum of two Marlay teams at every tournament this year.
