Meet Fiona Lehane

Fiona Lehane, self proclaimed GAA expert is quzzed about her life on and around the diamond by guest interviewer Rachel D'Alton. . .

Name / Nickname - Fee, Fifi, Foof, Foofster, Lehane
Position - OF ideally
1.        When did you start playing softball?  First played 7 or 8 years ago in Jersey. A friend dragged me along and I played until I moved back to Ireland. Then I stopped for a year or two before finding Marlay, by chatting to someone in the pub!

2.        Best Softball Memory / Moments -  Making a catch at IOST in Belfast in the rain and cloud-I didn't even think I had caught it, nor did anyone else and the umpire was stunned (perhaps my previous fielding made him doubt me!)

3.        Most frustrating thing about softball? Inability to be consistent!!!!

4.        Best player you've played with/against?  I refuse to learn from any of the good players around me! Ignorance is bliss.

5.        Favourite Blitz to play in? I played my first blitz at MIST with Marlay (it finished that year, coincidence I'm sure) and loved it mainly cause I had no idea what I was doing. I really enjoyed Windsor and driving my people carrier last year too.

6.        Are you an early bird or night owl? Early bird during the week, night owl at weekends. Afternoons are always a bad time for me though.

7.        Where would you rather spend your time; beach, country or city? Country.

8.        What famous person would you most like to meet? Stephen Fry.

9.        Which do you prefer – knickers, thongs or boy shorts? Who came up with these questions? It depends on the outfit I am wearing at the time....

10.        If you were stuck on a desert island with a team mate, who would it be? Well this is tough-is there anyone who would be capable of building shelter, finding food etc? I'm not sure we are good at anything practical! But Jen has impressed with her cookies and cakes, once the bake-off is done versus Kim, I'll decide then.

11.        Tell us something we don’t know about Fiona Lehane? A clown popped me on an ostrich when I visited the circus when I was small and it took off. I survived and went on to perform a great rendition of the birdy song, far better than all the older kids!

12.        Have you always had that annoying Cork accent? Annoying??? Wtf? It was actually even better before I  left Cork but those years outside the PROC have taken its toll. However, its at full belt when I am angry and/or drunk.

13.        Andy, Rick, Marc; If you had to F*** one, Kill one, Marry one... choose... All the shortest guys on the SO7 team? This game is never played when you put your choice in writing....I'm going to pass here, sorry!! (Again, who writes these questions!!)
