Colum Lavery Named in Euros Squad

Irish National Team coach, Derek Ward, has named 17 of the 18 players to travel to the European Championship Co-Ed Slowpitch in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria this July.  Congratulations to Marlay Softball Club's own Colum Lavery, who was chosen for the second consecutive year.  Marlay may yet see greater representation at the tournament as Adrian Crowe will compete for the last spot on the squad; and Ciaran Columb & Conor Sayles have been named amongst the reserves.

 
Marlay Players Travel to Diamond Series

Colum Lavery and Conor Sayles travel to the Diamond Series in Farnham Park, London this weekend (14th-15th May) as part of an Irish National Squad selection.  This tournament will act as a final trial for players competing to make the Irish team for the European Championship Co-ed Slowpitch (ECCS) in Bulgaria this July.  Kelly Glander will also travel with the Munster team.

 
Green Day For Marlay Softball Club

New Ireland Head Coach Derek Ward has named eight Marlay players in his first squad of 32 in advance of the 2011 Season.  After 4 weeks of trials, Coach Ward today announced his squad which will be reduced to 18 over the coming weeks to participate at the European Championships to be held in Bulgaria in July.

GB Retains Euros Title, as Ireland Finish 3rd

GB retained the European co-ed slowpitch championship yesterday, their seventh win overall.  GB defeated the Czech Republic in the final with the Irish finishing in 3rd place and Guernsey in 4th.
