Marlay Softball Club managed four wins from four for the club's home stand in the league this week. The Meteors and Mustangs were both in Marlay Park on Monday night, and their wins was followed up by a club social event in the Eden Pub on the Grange Road. Meteors had a comfortable first league win over the Mariners in Div3. While the Mustangs ensured victory over the All Sinners with a 6th inning rally.
Tuesday night was a little more uncomfortable for Marlay, the Mavericks took a 7-0 first inning lead against the Blazzers thanks to a number of uncharacteristic errors. However our Prem team let their opponents back into the game via some errors of their own and a failure to score what base runners they had. The Mavericks failed to get a runner on base in the bottom of the 7th with the game tied 10-10, but held the Blazzers in the top of 8th to give themselves another chance to win the game. Marc O'Fathaigh (RCF) got the walk off single to finally end the game.
Finally Mayhem had a more straight forward win on Wednesday night, against the Renegade Beachers, 16-6 to improve their Div1 record to 1-1. |
