Softball for Beginners – Meet new people and join the fun!
Saturday Jan 21st Have you ever fancied playing a new sport with friends, family or even just meeting new people? Softball is a co-ed game similar to rounder’s and baseball.
The primary difference is in softball the ball is “soft” tossed under arm as opposed ...to the “hard” overarm ball pitch in baseball.

The softball season starts in April, yet we're holding open days now to give new players an opportunity to try it out and get familiar with the game before the season starts. We are looking for both women and men above the age of 16, of all fitness and all the equipment will be provided. If you are interested please come along to one of our open days in January.

If you enjoy yourself, we have leagues of all abilities throughout the spring/summer which present a great opportunity to meet new people and have some fun.

Leinster League Week 1

Marlay had limited success in week one of the Leinster League this week.  The Meteors started things off well with a solid 27-17 win against fellow residents of Marlay Park, the Deadly Suspects on Monday night in Division 2.  Tuesday saw the start of the Mavericks Premier Division campaign at home to the Dodder Dynamoes.  Unfortunately the team failed to build on an early lead, although remaining 7-5 up going into the last inning.  The Dynamoes experience shone through as the top of their order plated 6 runs to take an 11-7 lead though and the Mavericks' bats failed to pull off a bottom of 7 win this week.  Finally on Wednesday the Dublin Bay Packers took a narrow win against Marlay Mayhem in Division 1 by a 7-5 score.

Practice Update

Our next club practice will be in Marlay Park at 12pm on Sunday 8th May.
